Laissez les bon temps rouler

Hello y'all.  I'm Rénald from Manchac, Louisiana. A buddy gave me a knife called a 'Karen Hood Chopper'. Nice knife, but then I had to find out who is Karen Hood. Lookin around on the interweb I found this place and signed up to see what I can see. I am a hunter, trapper, and fisherman by trade; and on occasion a scout and guide when someone gets himself lost in the swamp.

Welcome to the fire! Check out Ron and Karen's DVDs. Great info at a great price.

I fondled that knife at a local store. I was very surprised how good it felt in my hand. It had that "I wanna buy this and cut sumthing with it" feel to it.
Message of Insight and Unity

We go into the wilderness to fulfill our hearts and empty our minds of life's garbage.
The gear we leave behind and the challenges we encounter,
Are methods we use to cleanse our spirits.
Of Survivalists and Bushcrafters, Primitive Technologists too, we are one.........

It is the wilderness within, we strive for first and always.
Not everyone can have a cabin in the mountains.
The thread that connects us, is fine like silk and strong as steel.
Together, the song of the wilderness is the song we sing!

"And can I say something else?"
Bushcrafting is "doing what you want to do."
Survival is "doing what you have to do"
Primitive Technology is about all of the above........

ah welcome  Big Grin

You seem like another one who found their way to this forum by way of "Hood" inspiration...

I googled "survival" one dark and lonely night....read the story of Ron and Karen Hood, checked out their product line, was truly inspired...and I was hooked for life...

Ron (RIP) and Karen have achieved master level status in the outdoors world, they inspire and pass on skills (through real world experiences, gatherings, their magazines and articles, a forum full of kindred spirits who are willing teachers and of course their top notch line of survival training DVD's)...I am forever grateful...

We hope you will like it here!
