I have a ton of .45 ACP brass but not as much in .45 Colt.

In a pinch, if only .45 ACP ammo/brass were available for a revolver with a .45 Colt cylinder, it seems that a knot of string (perhaps even floss) can permit expedient, reversible use of the non-rimmed case.

Have you actually tried live firing .45 ACP ammo using the string procedure? How well did the string perform?

I show it in the youtube video at the end of the post above.

My brother has tried it in a Rossi Ranch Hand and it also worked <img src='http://hoodswoods.net/IVB/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

I know that other folks have tried it single shots, 9mm in .357 Mag and it also worked.
What a cute six-gun <img src='http://hoodswoods.net/IVB/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Interesting idea, if a little unconventional <img src='http://hoodswoods.net/IVB/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/2guns.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':2guns:' />
